Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare has begun posting quality indicators on its Web sites www.methodisthealth.org and www.lebonheur.org.

The sites provide rankings on quality indicators for certain areas of care, treatment and outcomes at Methodist and Le Bonheur to state and national benchmarks.

The Methodist site looks at rankings in the treatment of heart attacks and health failure, pneumonia and certain surgeries, the hospital stated in a release.

Le Bonheur’s quality data includes treatment for asthma, central line infection, hand hygiene, ventilator-acquired pneumonia, surgical site infection, seven-day readmissions and normal body temperature.

The sites also provide information about the quality indicators and why they are important.

“A characteristic of many leading health care systems is that they are posting their quality measures online,” Bill May, Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital’s chief medical officer, said in a release.

The Methodist and Le Bonheur sites will continue to evolve to include other quality measures, outcomes data and hospital infection rates, according to the release.

“Our goal is to provide the public with accurate information about the care we provide and to keep our hospitals, doctors and nurses accountable to our patients,” said Methodist’s chief quality officer Jerry Maliot in a statement
