MEMPHIS, TN –Morris Auction Group will hold regular auctions on behalf of Samuels Furniture & Interiors on the first and third Saturdays of every month at 10:00 am at the company’s warehouse, located at 2449 Scaper Cove in Memphis. The auctions will be open to the public and will offer approximately 300 furniture and accessories items for bid. The first auction is Saturday, June 16 at 10 am.
Harry Samuels, president of Samuels Furniture & Interiors, of Samuels, believes that by selling the company’s surplus inventory regularly by auction opens up his company to a new market of customers.
“Our customers have been faithful to us and business remains consistent,” said Samuels. “But by offering this inventory by auction, we are able to reach customers who might otherwise wait for a clearance sale to purchase a piece.”
Also, regular auctions allow Samuels to move inventory more quickly.
“Holding regular auctions allows us to make room for fresh inventory and a greater variety of products,” said Samuels. “Whether buying in our retail store, or by auction at the warehouse, our customers will have the opportunity to purchase the quality furniture and accessories that they’ve come to expect from Samuels.”
While this approach to selling may be unique for a retail furniture store, Jeff Morris, president of Morris Auction Group, is confident the approach will pay off for the historic home furnishing and bedding company.
“The auctions give Samuels Furniture a new approach to selling inventory and allow customers to buy items at their own price,” said Morris. “While the retail store is thriving, the bi-weekly auctions offer customers an alternative way to purchase furniture and accessories.”
Bidders may enter the Samuels Furniture warehouse for each auction starting at 8:30 a.m. to register and preview merchandise for the cash-and-carry process. During the auction, bidders will have the opportunity to preview the next auction’s inventory. Interested bidders may also preview the auction inventory each Wednesday-Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
